Marie Countiss Owenby

     Marie Countiss Owenby, 84, of Nebo, passed away Friday, December 5, 2025 at her residence.

     Marie was born in Bristol, Tennessee on June 29, 1941 to the late William Wilson Countiss and Glenna Willis Countiss. She was married to the late William Paul Owenby, Sr. Marie enjoyed reading and adored her whole family. She will always be loved and remembered.

     In addition to her husband and parents, Marie was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Countiss; and three brothers, Billy Countiss, Michael Countiss, and Sammy Countiss.

     Marie is survived by her children, Diana Spalding, William Owenby (Tracy), and Angela Gates (Michael); a sister, Julie Good (Tom); a brother, Jimmy Countiss; seven grandchildren, Jessica Spalding, Alicia Balcom (Brandon), Kristen Gates, Brook Forshey (Tony), Clay Owenby, Rose Owenby, and Ruby Owenby; and six great grandchildren, Kyle Wilkinson, Reece Spalding, Charlie VanZile, Raelynn Balcom, Kaylee Balcom, and Kamdyn Carpenter.

     A private family graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at McDowell Memorial Park.
