Marie Brooks Frisbee

On the morning of Tuesday, January 26, 2021, Marie Brooks Frisbee, 87, of Marion, North Carolina, peacefully departed this life at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville.

A native of McDowell County, she was born on October 08, 1933 to the late Ernest Brooks and Beulah Stone Brooks.

Marie worked in textiles as a weaver for many years. She thoroughly enjoyed camping, fishing, and exercising. She liked to work crossword puzzles and play putt-putt as well. A faithful member of Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church, Marie loved her Lord. She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Frisbee; a sister, Bertha Mason; and a brother, Forrest Brooks.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Wise (Mike); three grandchildren, Benjamin (Kaylee), Jacob, and Elizabeth; and two great grandchildren, Olivia and Avery; and two sisters, Edna Norton (Paul) and Judy Byrd (Mike).

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Rick Wood officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
