Malcolm Jerome Mayfield
Malcolm Jerome Mayfield, age 31, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville.
He was born in Buncombe County, North Carolina on September 08, 1989 to the late Carl Young and Dianna Mayfield.
Malcolm was a well-liked man who was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He truly loved people. His personality would light up a room. He was a member of Garden Creek Baptist Church, but he enjoyed playing and singing at churches throughout the area. He was also involved with the Old Fort Community Chorus. He loved bowling, playing bingo, and playing video games.
He is survived by his sister, Brianna Mayfield; an aunt, Alisa Coady (Scott); two uncles, Ocie Mayfield and Claude Mayfield (Cindy); a great aunt, Julian B. Quinn; a great uncle, Tyrone Jackson; two cousins, Davonté Conley, and his children, Danté and Rigale Conley and Jaime Kelly Ingram (Jerret); and special nephews, Chandler Mayfield and Kolton Crowder.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Malcolm was a true competitor in bowling. He found great joy in playing on a team,be it as a sub or on a team league. He will be greatly missed. Malcolm is at peace and rest in his heavenly home now. May Gods infinite grace and mercy be with your family as you heal during this tragic loss.

I met Malcolm at the bowling alley of course, he was a hoot. My sister and I took to him right away and he became a regular at our barbershop. I will miss him and I send love and prayers to his family.
