Lorene Rathbone Rumfelt

Lorene Rathbone Rumfelt, 77, of Nebo, passed away at her residence on Friday, October 13, 2023.

Lorene was born in Yancey County on March 29, 1946 to Kenneth Rathbone and Zora Mae Rathbone who preceded her in death. Her husband, Ernest Woody Rumfelt and two sisters Geraldine Jensen and Essie Ward and a brother, J.D. Wilson also preceded her in death.

Lorene enjoyed collecting Princess Diana dolls and Princess House. She also loved playing bingo with her twin sister. Lorene was known as a wonderful cook but more than anything she loved her family. She will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish her memories are her four children, Kenneth Charles Rumfelt (Paula), Ernest Allen Rumfelt (Janet), Jeffery Scott Rumfelt (Sherry), and Kimberly Dawn Elliott (Jonathan); her twin sister, Elene Linder; two brothers, J.C. Rathbone, Clarence Rathbone (Angie), and eleven grandchildren, Rheanna Rumfelt (Shakeer), Ciera Andrews (Austin), Kellie Martin (Dama), Courtney Rumfelt, Kylie Hicks (Jessie), Chanda Rumfelt, Tye Rumfelt, Autumn Rumfelt, Marissa Grant (Blake), Tori Smith and Addisyn Elliott along with seventeen great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
