Lonnie Dale Lewis

Lonnie Dale Lewis, 87, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, April 09, 2022 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center.

A native of McDowell County, he was born on February 23, 1935 to the late Willard and Hennie Gardin Lewis. He is also preceded in death by his son, Kelly Dale Lewis, and 12 brothers and sisters.

Lonnie retired from Collins and Aikman as a quality control supervisor. Along with his late son, Kelly, he was co-owner of Carolina Chocolatiers where he made the deliveries. Lonnie enjoyed fishing especially on the coast. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and will be remembered as being very loving to all he knew.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Owenby Lewis; his son, Michael Lewis and wife Miranda; and two grandchildren, Sara Lewis and Michael Lewis.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A private graveside service will take place at McDowell Memorial Park.
