Linda Gail Revis Terry

Linda Gail Revis Terry, 73, of Marion, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

A native of McDowell County, she was born September 2, 1951 to the late Atlas Addison Revis and Ruby Ruth Shell Revis. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Revis, Sr.

Linda was a woman whose kindness and compassion touched everyone who knew her. She had a gift for making others feel seen, heard, and cared for.

A lifelong lover of books, Linda could often be found reading or spending the day perusing the shelves of Barnes and Noble or the public library. She enjoyed traveling and accomplished seeing some of the most beautiful places in the world.

More than anything, she cherished her family. Her greatest pride and joy came from the time she spent with them, creating moments of laughter, warmth, and unconditional love.

Linda’s memory will be carried forward by her family, who will continue to honor her legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness. Though she is no longer with us in person, the lessons she taught, the love she gave, and the strength she showed will remain forever.

She will be deeply missed and eternally loved.

She is survived by three children, Vickie Terry Montague (Mark), Christopher Gene Terry, and Cindy Terry Poteat (Ronnie); six grandchildren, Stacy Good (Alisha), Jessica Brown, Kayla Clay (Bryant), Colby Poteat, Amber McGee, and William McGee; five great-grandchildren, Sophie Buchanan, Eli Brown, Jaxon Brown, Coltyn Poteat, and Calum Clay; and three siblings, Joyce Laws, Thurman Revis (Pat), and Melvin Revis (Diane).

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A memorial service will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
