Linda Jane Proctor Mace

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 17, 2021, Linda Jane Proctor Mace, 72, of Nebo, North Carolina, peacefully departed this life at her residence with her family at her side.

She was born in Catawba County on April 01, 1949 to the late Marshall Proctor and Rosa Odom Proctor.

Linda, who worked as a nurse for many years, never met a stranger. She had a special place in her heart for all her friends and family, but especially her two grandsons, Christopher and Alex. Linda liked following her favorite team, the Atlanta Braves, and she enjoyed shopping, particularly her trips to Walmart. She liked all things yellow, and she loved animals.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 53 years, Jack Taylor Mace; her son, Jack Dean Mace and wife Melinda; her grandsons, Christopher and Alex Mace; two siblings, Diane Spencer and Marshall Wayne Proctor; five nieces; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

To honor Linda’s love for her family, a private family gathering will be held in her honor in the fall.
