Linda Barker Hurst

Linda Barker Hurst, 70, of Marion, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

She was born in McDowell County on November 11, 1952. She is preceded in death by her father, Arthur Barker; her mother, Agnes Betty Arrowood Barker; and a sister, Brenda Barker.

She is survived by two children, Lisa Reynolds and Ronnie Townsend; three grandchildren, Sara Reynolds, Madison Townsend, and Gavin Townsend; and two aunts, Judy Staton and Joyce Duncan.

Linda graduated from cosmetology school and most recently attended Clinchfield United Methodist Church for many years. She was a fan of baseball and NASCAR. Her favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. Following the death of her mother, Linda’s aunt Joyce took on the role of a mother and was very special to her.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Mike Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.
