Lillian Cordelia Brown Harris, 92, of Old Fort, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
She was born in Buncombe County on January 7, 1934 to the late Sewell Brown and Eunice Davis Brown.
Lillian retired from Baxter Healthcare following many years of dedicated service. She was a longtime, faithful member of Living Waters Tabernacle Church. Known for the ever-present joy in her heart, Lillian loved singing about Jesus and sharing Him with those around her. She enjoyed simple pleasures in life such as tending to her flowers, watching the birds, or doing crafts. When her health allowed, she liked traveling. Lillian loved her family immensely, and she will be missed by all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Joseph William Harris; and four siblings, Mildred Conner, Loretta Haney, Opal Ray, and William Brown.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Dennie, Michael and Janice Harris, and Joan and Frank Hughes; five grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Velma Grant and Coleen Grant; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 6, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Rev. Jason Harris and Rev. Jacob Hunt. Interment will be at Davistown Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
