Lesa Edna Pannell

     Lesa Edna Smith Pannell, 57, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at her residence.

     Lesa was born in McDowell County, NC, on August 1, 1968, to the late Eunice Clark and William Roosevelt Smith. She was married to her husband of 34 years, Spencer Pannell. Lesa was a dedicated employee of Ridge Care Retirement Home, formerly known as Rose Hill, where she made a positive impact on the lives of those who lived there. She loved riding 4-wheelers, fishing, and attending yard sales. Most of all, Lesa loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will always be loved and missed by all who knew her.

     In addition to her parents, Lesa was preceded in death by a brother, David Smith.

     Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Spencer Pannell; three children, Brandi Fore (Brandon), Ashley Chambers (Billy), and Brittany Pannell (Dustin Morris); three brothers, Lester Smith (Linda), Ronnie Smith (Debbie), and Gene Shew (Laura); seven grandchildren, Logan Fore (Maddie), Taylor Fore, Madison Fore, Jackson Fore, Adaleigh Dover, Peyton Chambers, and Storm Morris; and a great grandchild on the way.

     A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Rev. Brandon Fore will officiate. A private family burial service will follow. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
