Leland "Guy" Herbert Gorecki

Leland “Guy” Herbert Gorecki, 74, passed away September 24, 2026 surrounded by his loving family at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center. He was born in Elkhorn, WI on April 28,1952 to Raymond and June Gorecki. At age 18 he moved to Charlotte, NC to attend heavy equipment operation school. From then on, he called North Carolina home.

Guy is survived by his three children, Ginger Webb (Ben), Jacob Gorecki (Shanna), and Joseph Gorecki, as well as four grandchildren, Tyler, Brady, Stella, and Addison. He is also survived by siblings Beverly Church, Jerry Gorecki, and Mark Gorecki, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Guy loved large machinery, transfer trucks, and tractors. He could repair engines of all sizes. His mind was a road map of every highway in America, and he could tell you how to drive literally anywhere. He was a general contractor, licensed real estate agent, and professional truck driver. He loved black coffee, pineapple upside down cake, liver and onions, and black licorice. He will be very missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, in the Beam Funeral Service Chapel. Rev. Gary Webb and Rev. Freddie Williams will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery.
