Kenny Lee Dixon, Sr.

Kenny Lee Dixon, Sr., 59, a lifelong resident of the Black Jack Community in Pitt County, North Carolina and Union Mills, North Carolina passed away peacefully at his home after a five yearlong battle with cancer on July 24, 2026.

A memorial service will be held in the Chapel at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Greenville, North Carolina at 5:00 p.m. with visitation at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026 officiated by Rev. Jerry Lewis of Old Fort, North Carolina.

Mr. Dixon graduated from DH Conley High School and attended Roanoke Chowan College. He spent 29 ½ years working at NC DOT as a Transportation Supervisor and retired in 2021. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of Black Jack Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in his teenage years. He was a member of Grace Community Church in Marion, North Carolina where he loved his church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Barbara Robbins Dixon; son, Kenny Lee Dixon, Jr. and fiancée Megan of Greenville, NC; daughter, Victoria Dixon Bunn and husband Eric of Pinetops, NC; daughter, Kammi LeeAnne Dixon of the home; brother, Leaky Lamur Dixon, Jr. and wife Rita of Greenville, NC; and grandchildren, Eric D. Bunn, Jr. (EJ), Elyzer Trentton Bunn (Trent), and Zoey LeighAnna Bunn all of Pinetops, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sandra Fornes Dixon and Leaky Lamur Dixon, Sr.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to the nurses and caregivers at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills of Forest City, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Methodist Church Cemetery in Nebo, NC and will be conducted by Rev. Jerry Lewis.
