Kenneth Robert Styles, a man cherished for his strength and steadfast nature, passed away peacefully at his residence on March 22, 2026. Born on May 29, 1957, in McDowell County, North Carolina, Kenneth lived a life deeply rooted in the values of hard work, family, and a profound appreciation for the natural world.
Known as a man of few words, Kenneth’s presence spoke volumes. His love for the outdoors was evident in his dedication to hunting, fishing, and spending time on the lake—pastimes that brought him great joy and tranquility throughout his years. He was also an avid enthusiast of rock music and classic cars.
Kenneth applied his remarkable skill as a carpenter to build his entire home, a testament to his industrious spirit and meticulous attention to detail. His craftsmanship not only provided a shelter but also a tangible legacy for his family and loved ones. He was a proud member of the Marion Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Linda Styles; his children Linda S. Radford and her husband Ernie, Kenneth Allan Styles, Robert Blake Styles (Stephanie), Adam Shane Styles; and his siblings Clifton Hughes, Jr. and his wife Shelly, and Darlene Washburn and her husband Charles. Kenneth was a devoted grandfather to eight grandchildren and a great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry his memory forward. Also mourning his loss is his cherished aunt, Patsy Pope.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Styles, and his mother, Peggy Colene Frady Styles, whose memories he honored throughout his life.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Kenneth’s life will be held on March 27, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory, located at 2170 Rutherford Rd, Marion, NC 28752. Family, friends, and those whose lives were touched by Kenneth’s profound influence are invited to join in honoring his memory.
Kenneth Robert Styles leaves behind a legacy of love, craftsmanship, and a deep-seated respect for the outdoors—qualities that will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be remembered not only for his contributions but also for his strength and unwavering devotion to those he held dear.
