Kenneth Wayne Avery

     Kenneth Wayne Avery, 64, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Autumn Care of Marion.

     Mr. Avery was born in McDowell County, NC on September 13, 1958, to the late Mary Margaret Moore and Samuel Joseph Avery. He was a member of St. Mark Church of God in Christ in Marion, where he enjoyed volunteering. Mr. Avery was very humble and easy going. He was known to enjoy a good cup of coffee and going shopping. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.

     In addition to his parents, Mr. Avery was preceded in death by six brothers, Benny, Bobby, Paul, Billy, Lonnie, and Donald; and two sisters, Janie and Thelma.

     Those left to cherish his memory include four sisters, Gracie Jackson, Catherine Barnard (Thes), Shirley Lynch (Don), and Mildred Littlejohn; a brother, Alfounzo Hardy; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Anita Largent and Bernard Borders.

     A funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Rev. James Stokely will officiate. Burial will follow at McDowell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
