Kathleen Ann Lonon

Kathleen “Kathy” Ann Lonon, age 68, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Mission Hospital-McDowell.  A native of Bronx, New York, born on March 22, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Eileen Distler Gates. 

A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Kathy had a wonderful personality, she was very considerate of others, always putting their needs first before herself.  Being of the Catholic faith, she enjoyed being outdoors, swimming and loved to decorate.  She will be remembered for her contiguous smile. 

Kathy is survived by one son, Michael Lonon; one daughter, Stephanie Lonon; three grandchildren, Sasha, Tyler and Aaron; four great grandchildren; three siblings, Francis Gates, Jr., Patricia Cioffari and Maureen Gates; several nieces and nephews; and her four special friends, Ronald Rumfelt, Renee Thompson, Gloria Sharpe and Dude Haley.   

A private service will be held at a later date.
