Kathleen Grace Gaddy Crawley

Kathleen Grace Gaddy Crawley, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully at her residence on June 19, 2026. Kathy lived a life devoted to family, friends, and the values she held dear. Born in McDowell County on February 23, 1951, Kathy's life was marked by her kindness, empathy, strength, love, and quiet grace that touched all who knew her.

Throughout her seventy-five years, Kathy was a constant source of love and steadfast support to those around her. She was a graduate of Marion High School, Class of 1969. She was known as a hard worker and served for more than 46 years as a unit coordinator and in other positions at McDowell Hospital. Her presence was a gift to her community and, most importantly, to her family, with whom she shared her heart and home. Kathleen is lovingly remembered by her husband, Julius Kincaid Crawley; her children, Greta Smith (David) and Daniel Crawley; one granddaughter Mary Grace Smith; brother Jackie Gaddy (Linda); sister Edith Bolick (Gary); Nieces Nicole, Ashley, Sarah, Rebekah and Michelle; nephew Jackie, and all treasured family members who mourn her.

Kathy’s path was shaped not only by the joy she found in life but also by memories of loved ones who had gone before her. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Grace Randolph, and sister, Virginia Effler (Gene).

Her family wishes to invite friends and community members to gather in remembrance and celebration of Kathleen’s life. A visitation will be held on Thursday June 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Beam Funeral Service Chapel, 2170 Rutherford Rd, Marion, NC 28752. Funeral services honoring her life will be held following the visitation at 11:00 am with Rev. Steve Durham officiating. Private interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Kathleen’s legacy is one of warmth, dedication, and compassion. Though her presence and loving kindness will be missed, the impact she made on the lives of those she touched will continue to endure. Her memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
