Katherine Spencer

Katherine Spencer, age 74, of Marion, NC went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Mitchell House in Spruce Pine, NC.

Mrs. Spencer was born July 17, 1943 in McDowell County, NC to the late Dewey and Wilma Hollifield.  She was a lifelong member of Turkey Cove Baptist Church.  She enjoyed doing crafts, birdwatching and flowers.  She loved her family!

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Beverly Hollifield.

Left behind to cherish Mrs. Spencer’s memories are her beloved husband of 54 years, Perry Spencer; two children, Eddie Spencer and Wanda Burleson; one grandson, Logan Burleson; and three siblings, Paul Hollifield (Shirley), Lee Hollifield (Jean) and Jerry Hollifield.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory.  A Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Scott Hollifield, Rev. David Edwards and Rev. Charles Dicks officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Turkey Cove Baptist Church Cemetery.
