Karen Diane Tipton

     Karen Diane Woods Tipton, 60, of Marion, passed away Friday, November 18, 2022, at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville.

     Karen was born in Buncombe County, NC, on October 29, 1962, to Mary Louise Knapp and the late David Leon Woods, Jr. She was married to her husband of twenty five years, Scotty Tipton. Karen was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She loved flowers, listening to music, and was very active on social media. Karen was known to lighten up any room and brighten anyone’s day. She will be greatly missed.

     In addition to her father, Karen was preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel Bay; and a sister, Teresa Harmon.

     Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Scotty Tipton; her mother, Louise Smith; four children, Brandon Parker, Rita Hughes (Alex), Tammy Kicklighter, and Heather Tipton; two sisters, Amy Smith and Becky Ray (Shawn); three grandchildren, Tony Bradley (Stacey Russell), David Miller, and Eli Clendenen; four nieces, Violet, Jessica, Erin, and Madison; and two nephews, Marley and Blake.

     A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Rev. Jason Bright will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
