Karen McGee Milton

Karen McGee Milton, of Black Mountain, NC, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026. She was born January 5, 1945 in Hartford, CT and was the daughter of James H. "Sporty" McGee and Jean Newberry McGee of Mauldin, SC.

Karen graduated from Hillcrest High in Simpsonville, SC, Anderson College in Anderson, SC, and Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Charlotte, NC. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 47 years, and was most recently employed as a Nursing Supervisor at Black Mountain Neuromedical Treatment Center where she retired after 22 years.

She was predeceased by her parents and an infant brother. She is survived by her husband, Clifford Milton of Black Mountain; her son, William "Josh" Sides of Hartsville, SC; and her daughter, Anna "Chris" Sides of Boone, NC. She is also survived by sisters, Leah McGee and Lynne Raines of Greenville County, SC and her beloved granddaughter, Emma Sides of Hartsville, SC.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family requests any donations in her memory be made to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue or Buncombe County Animal Shelter, both of Asheville, NC.
