Julian E. Braswell

Julian E. Braswell, age 67, of Newland, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, August 08, 2017 while under the care of Life Care Center of Banner Elk.  The son of the late Leo and Isabel Hayes Braswell, he was born in Avery County, North Carolina on September 14, 1949.  Mr. Braswell was also preceded in death by one brother, Albert Braswell and one sister, Marie Braswell.

A rock mason for most of his life, Julian is survived by three children, Julie Burleson and her husband, Charlie, Samantha Guy and her husband, Jack; and Frankie Braswell and his wife, Sarah; one sister Diane Jordan and her husband, Sammy; eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a nephew, Keith Braswell; and several other nieces and nephews.    

A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Sugar Mountain Baptist Church, 1852 Sugar Mountain 2 Road, Newland, with Reverend Tommy Hayes officiating.
