Judy Frady

     Judy Ann Hollifield Frady, 81, of Marion, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Mountain Ridge Health and Rehabilitation in Black Mountain.

     Mrs. Frady was born in Marion, NC on May 4, 1942, to the late Willian Virshel Hollifield and Evelyn Cox Hollifield. She married James Ervin Frady on June 30, 1978 and was a devoted member of East Marion United Methodist Church. Mrs. Frady enjoyed hummingbirds and loved going on country drives with her husband, James. She was known to be kind and supportive to the children of the community and was very active with United Methodist Women, with whom she served as treasurer.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Frady was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Owensby; and a brother, Jerry W. Hollifield.

     She is survived by her husband, James Frady; two nephews, Jason Owensby (Jenni) and Eli Hollifield; a niece, Erin Bulatao (Felix); a great niece, Ali Owensby; and two great nephews, James and Joseph Bulatao.  

     A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 1, 2023, at East Marion United Methodist Church. Rev. Phil Tate will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the Church.
