Judy Dene Underwood Robinson

Judy Dene Underwood Robinson, 76, of Union Mills, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Heritage Hills Memory Care in Hendersonville.

A native of Chesnee, South Carolina, Judy was born February 27, 1947 to the late Wayman McKinney Underwood and Ruth Vanessa Henderson Underwood. She spent most of her life in Ventura, California before moving to North Carolina. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Ann Turner.

Judy was formerly employed at the Marion Correctional Institution as a Corrections Officer. She had also owned and operated her own cleaning business, Made in the Mountains, in the Lake Lure area. Judy was a talented painter, and she enjoyed being outside working in her flower garden. She enjoyed going to church and traveling with her husband when she was able. Judy had a special place in her heart for animals. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Maxwell R. Robinson, Jr.; two sons, Michael Zittel (Amy) and Mark Zittel (Linda); three grandchildren, Tyler Zittel, Logan Van-Allen, and Alexis Cano; two sisters, Robin Thompson (Mark- deceased) and Laura Hiser (Duane); special nieces, Stephanie Thompson and Jennifer Solis (Chris) and their children, Ethan, Austin, and Addison; her former husband, Irwin John Zittel; and numerous extended family and friends in South Carolina.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A graveside service will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.
