Joshua Murphy Halstead

Joshua Murphy Halstead, 39, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026.

Joshua was born to Kevin and Veronica Halstead. He served his country in the United States Army, and, like many veterans, carried home wounds that could not be seen.

Joshua is survived by his children, Xander Halstead, Izaiah Halstead, Casey Krajenke, and Khloe Krajenke. He is also survived by his mother, Veronica Krajenke; his sister, Courtney Gracon, and her husband, Raymond Gracon; and his niece, Aria Gracon. He was preceded in death by his father, Kevin Halstead.

We will remember Josh for the loving person he was, not the struggles he faced. He cared deeply about those around him. He had a brilliant mind and a great sense of humor, both of which can be seen in his children. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Carnifex Ferry Battlefield State Park, Shelter 4, 1194 Carnifex Ferry Crossing, Summersville, WV 26651. In a way that honors who Josh was, the gathering will be casual and snacks will be served.
