Johnny Michael Dixon, born on May 18, 1958, in McDowell County, North Carolina, passed away at his residence on May 23, 2026. He was a beloved figure within his family and community.
Johnny dedicated many years of his professional life to working with NAPA Auto Parts. Beyond his work, Johnny found joy in some deeply cherished pastimes. He loved panning for gold, a hobby that spoke to his adventurous spirit and patient determination. Additionally, he took great pleasure in his collection of vinyl records, reflecting a heartfelt appreciation for music.
Throughout his life, Johnny was a loving brother and friend, qualities that endeared him to many. He is survived by his brothers Larry Dixon, Junior Dixon and his wife Sherry, and Greg Oliver Dixon; his sister Sharee Dixon Lewis Clontz; as well as his step-daughter Vanessa Wig and husband Brian and their children Bailey Wig and Eli Wig. Johnny's life was also enriched by numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom remember him fondly. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas Dixon and Doris Lawing Dixon.
A graveside service to honor Johnny’s memory will be held on May 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. This gathering will offer an opportunity for family, friends, and loved ones to pay their final respects and celebrate the meaningful life he led.
His presence will be deeply missed but forever treasured by those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace.
