John Randolph "Randy" Yoakum

John Randolph “Randy” Yoakum, 56, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Mission Hospital McDowell.

A native of Marion, Randy was born December 15, 1966 to John Tea Yoakum and Reva Forbes Yoakum.

Randy was an avid sports fan who enjoyed Tennessee football and Carolina basketball. He was a football player himself all through school. He loved spending time in nature by hiking and trout fishing. He was also a talented cook. Randy was well-liked by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He loved his family, especially his children, most of all.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bruce and Thelma Yoakum and Mark and Hazel Forbes; and a brother-in-law, David Kaufman.

Along with his parents, John and Reva Yoakum, Randy is survived by his partner, Amy Rumfelt; four sons, Joshua Yoakum, Joseph Yoakum, David Yoakum, and Maeson Yoakum; two grandchildren, Max and Gabe; two sisters, Rebecca Kaufman and Delores Bouldin; and numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Beam Funeral Service on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 2:00 until 3:00 pm.
