John Paul Norton, Jr.

     John Paul Norton, Jr., 80, of Nebo, NC, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City.

     John was born in Jackson County, NC, on November 6, 1944, to the late Teresa Parker and John Paul Norton, Sr. John served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was married to Sandra Jean Sawyer Norton and was the owner and operator of Blue Ridge Security for more than 50 years. He was of Baptist faith and always went above and beyond to help others in need. Most of all, John loved his family. He will always be remembered for his many years of kindness and generosity.

     Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sandra Norton; three children, Jenny Ruff (David Roper), Mark Norton (Jennifer), and David Scott Johnson; a sister, Mary Ellen Hooper (Alvin); a brother, R.L. Norton; two grandchildren, Sierra and Lucas; and a niece, Julie Dennis (Shane).

     A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Tuckasegee Baptist Church Cemetery in Cullowhee. Rev. Rick Wood will officiate.
