John Michael Lipe, age 71, of Old Fort, North Carolina, went to be with his Heavenly Father on the evening of Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Autumn Care of Marion.
A native of McDowell County, he was born on August 12, 1950 to the late Gilbert Lipe and Frances Thomason Lipe.
John worked in law enforcement and retired as a Correctional Officer. He was a jokester who was blessed with an incredible sense of humor. He was an avid fan of baseball who also enjoyed tinkering. John will be remembered as being a friend to everybody. He was a great father and grandfather.
He is survived by his two sons, Eric Lipe and wife Christy and Joshua Lipe; five grandchildren, Wesley Lipe, Chase Lipe, Avery Lipe, Adley Lipe, and Addison Lipe; two siblings, GG Lipe and wife Julie and Myrna Greene; and his former wife and best friend, Kathy Allison.
In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned.
