Lenoir

John Allen Church, of Lenoir, North Carolina, passed away on September 9, 2026, his 46th birthday. John was born on September 9, 1980, in Burke County, North Carolina, to Frances Church.

John was a one-of-a-kind person whose presence could never be overlooked or forgotten. He was outspoken, honest, authentic, and wonderfully eccentric. He saw the world through his own unique lens and was never afraid to speak his mind or stand firmly in what he believed. Independent and self-motivated, John was a hardworking man who took pride in figuring things out for himself and following his own path.

John had a deep love for the outdoors, especially hunting and spending time in the woods. He appreciated the peace, freedom, and simplicity that could be found there. He was also a skilled craftsman and capable of turning ideas into something tangible. His creativity, determination, and willingness to work hard were evident in everything he undertook.

John was the proud owner of JAC's Cab Service, a business that reflected his independent spirit and entrepreneurial nature.

Education was another accomplishment of which John was especially proud. In May 2026, he graduated from Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute with an Associate in Applied Science in Accounting and Finance. During his time at CCC&TI, John earned numerous recognitions for academic achievement and was awarded several scholarships. His accomplishments demonstrated the determination, intelligence, and perseverance that were such defining parts of who he was.

John will be deeply missed by his mother, Frances Church; his brother, Eric Church (Heather); his nephews, Karson and Zeppelin; his niece, Spencer; his best friend, Lake; and numerous other family members and friends whose lives he influenced in his own unforgettable way.

John was not a person who simply followed the crowd. He was genuine, independent, outspoken, unconventional, and unapologetically himself. He had a distinctive way of looking at life and a perspective that was uniquely his own. Those who knew him will remember his honesty, his strong will, his hard work, his individuality, and the stories and memories that could only belong to John.

Though his time was far too short, John lived life on his own terms and left an impression that will remain with those who loved him.

John's family invites friends to join them in honoring his life on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 3:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at 3100 Blue Creek Road, Lenoir, NC.
