Joe Glenn Lawing

Joe Glenn Lawing, 75, of Marion, North Carolina passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022 at the Charles George VA Medical Center.

He was the son of Howard and Bessie Frye Lawing, born on October 23, 1946.

Following his military service, he returned home to Glenwood to help his father run their poultry farm. Later, he started the hatchery business. Joe was well known in the hatchery business throughout the country. He was a lifelong resident of Glenwood, and will be remembered as a great friend to all in the community. He was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patti Lawing.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Revs. Jonathan Watson and Melvin Revis officiating. No formal visitation will be held. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
