Jo Ann Rutherford

Jo Ann Rutherford, 87, of Nebo, passed away at her residence Wednesday, October 26, 2022.

Jo Ann was born in Tennessee on May 17, 1935 to the late Brevard Rutherford and the late Elizabeth Hardy Rutherford. She was a member of St. John A.M.E. where she served as a stewardess and a choir member. Jo Ann was known as a wonderful cook and baker. She enjoyed reading and working in her flower garden.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Jack Rutherford; a sister, Betty Lytle; two sons, Thomas B Rutherford who passed the same day and Ray Rutherford.

Those left to cherish her memory are two children, Joycelyn Tate and David Rutherford; ten grandchildren; fouteen great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren. 

A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Letisha Williams and the Rev. Arvin Hicks officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Burial will take place at McDowell Memorial Park following the service.
