Jimmy Clarence Morris

Jimmy Clarence Morris, 85, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center.

A native of Old Fort, Jimmy was born December 26, 1936 to the late Arthur Clarence Morris and Lugene Lavender Morris. His sister, Vena Faye Clark, also precedes him in death.

Jimmy worked with Metropolitan Life for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve for 8 years. A member of Cross Memorial Baptist Church, he served as deacon and trustee. He had a passion and true talent for singing which he often loved to do. He enjoyed fishing and joking around with family and friends. Jimmy will be remembered for his love for God, his wife, his family, and his church.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jeanette Morris; three sons, Jimmy Morris (Patty), Phillip Morris (Karen), and Andrew Morris (Michelle); seven grandchildren, Mandy Gilliland (Thomas), Leah Morris, Erica Morris, Joshua Morris, Andy Morris, Matthew Morris, and Benjamin Morris; and two great grandchildren, Catherine and Max Gilliland.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 02, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Cross Memorial Baptist Church with Revs. Ryan Bennett and Roger Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in Cross Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.
