On the evening of Wednesday, December 31, 2025, Jimmy Wilbert Brock, Jr., 71, of Morganton, passed away at Frye Regional Medical Center.
A native of Red Springs, North Carolina, he was born October 16, 1954 to the late Jimmy Wilbert Brock, Sr. and Margaret Huggins Brock.
Jim retired from Southern Devices after thirty years of dedicated service. An avid hunter, he enjoyed hunting for all kinds of wildlife. Fishing was also a favorite pastime, and he cherished time spent on the water. Jim formerly rode hare scrambler motorcycles and enjoyed jeeping when he was able. He really loved his family, especially his grandchildren. His greatest joy was being called “Pop Jim.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a friend who he considered a brother, Terry Isaacs.
He is survived by his wife, Vanda Hoyle Brock; three children, Chris Brock, Heather McEnnerney (Brendan), and Kim Smith; six grandchildren, Savana Brock, Channing Brock, Leo McEnnerney, Liam McEnnerney, Rosaleen McEnnerney, and Aidan McEnnerney; one sister, Kathryn Brock; and a special family friend, Becky Tackett.
A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service, and the details will be announced once finalized.
