Jewelleen Sheehan Surratt

Jewelleen Sheehan Surratt, 81, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at her residence.

She was born in McDowell County on June 9, 1945 to the late Clarence Edward Sheehan and Julia Nora Sheehan.

Jewell loved the Lord and formerly attended the First Free Will Baptist Church of Marion where she enjoyed helping in the soup kitchen. She was a loving caregiver to many people throughout her life. Jewell loved bluegrass music, line dancing and above all her family. She will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Franklin Surratt, Sr.; one son, Jackie Franklin “Chuck” Surratt, Jr.; and her brothers and sisters, Clarence Sheehan, Marshall Sheehan, George Sheehan, Mary Ellen Sheehan, Wilma Fairchild, Ruth Sheehan, and Betty Davis.

She is survived by three children, Scott Surratt (Becky), Kim Wilkerson (Brandon), and Renee Surratt; five grandchildren, Stephanie Surratt, Jasmine Wilkerson, Taylor Wilkerson, Jordan Rhodes (Jason), and Cameron Surratt; four great-grandchildren, Addie, Raegan, Rowan, and Islah; and her special canine companion, Max.

A private graveside service will be held at McDowell Memorial Park.
