Jerry Cleveland Sigmon

On the afternoon of Friday, August 13, 2021, Jerry Cleveland Sigmon, 62, of Marion, North Carolina went Home to be with the Lord while at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital.

A native of McDowell County, he was born on August 06, 1959 to the late James David Sigmon and Iva June Randolph Sigmon. He is also preceded in death by a brother, James Terry Sigmon.

Jerry had building in his blood, and he served as a commercial contractor his whole life. He truly enjoyed his craft which he passed on to his sons who built his casket in his honor out of material his best friend donated. Though he was a joker who was always up to something, Jerry loved talking about the Lord to others, especially his co-workers. He loved his family immensely, but his grandbabies were extra special to him. Jerry got joy out of laughing and fishing, and he was also a fan of bluegrass music.

He leaves behind his wife, Teresa Vincent Sigmon; three sons, Brandon Sigmon (Monica), Adam Sigmon (Haley), and Justin Sigmon (Michelle); eight grandchildren, Avery, Gracie, Maddy, Hunter, Bristol, Hannah, Finnley, and Joanna Kate Sigmon; and two siblings, Brenda Buchanan (Mike) and Darryl Sigmon (Gloria).

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. with Preacher Donnie Walker and Preacher Ralph Sexton officiating. Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Sigmon, Adam Sigmon, Justin Sigmon, Greg Helton, Avery Sigmon, and Michael Ponder.

The family respectfully asks that you use your best judgment in attending the services, particularly if you are sick.

Teresa and boys. We were so sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. I know it has been devastating to your family. We will always remember the times he coached our kids in baseball and the times he worked with us as we were getting started in the construction business. It was always a good time. You will be in our prayers and if you need anything please call on us,
