Jeanette Ferguson Grindstaff

Jeanette Ferguson Grindstaff, age 85, of Old Fort, North Carolina, passed away Monday, November 01, 2021 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital.

A native of McDowell County, she was born September 27, 1936 to the late James L. Ferguson, Sr. and Victoria Patterson Ferguson.

Jeanette was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church where she was very involved. Over the years, she served as a Sunday school teacher and as the youth director, alongside her husband. She loved to cook, and she was excellent at it. Her desserts and her chicken and dumplings were the greatest. She was often encouraged by her grandchildren to open her own restaurant. She enjoyed fishing as well. Above all, her family was most important, especially her grandchildren who were her world.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy M. Grindstaff; and two brothers, Mickie Ferguson and Jimmy Ferguson.

She is survived by her four children, Steve Grindstaff (Debbie), Donnie Grindstaff (Donna), Mark Grindstaff (Susan), and Keith Grindstaff (Dawn); nine grandchildren, Katelyn Evitt (Nicholas), Kourtney Kuykendall (Nick), Donnie Grindstaff (Suzette), Cherish Houser, Kayleigh McKee (Brad), Megan Grindstaff, Daniel Grindstaff (Jeanie), Brett Grindstaff, and Chris Grindstaff; seven great grandchildren, Owen Evitt, Raegan Grindstaff, Alexis Pendleton, Trinity Pendleton, William Grindstaff, Banks Grindstaff, and Lexi Grindstaff; two great-great grandchildren, Willow and Ayla Pendleton; and four siblings, Roger Ferguson (Susan), Betty Ledford (Don), Diane Sisk, and Sue Grindstaff.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 07, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Harold Webb officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.
