Janice C. Peterson

Janice Carol Peterson-Grant, 64, of Marion, passed peacefully on April 30, 2026, surrounded by love and family.

She was born to parents; Aileen and Patrick Peterson in Buncombe County on November 17, 1961.

Janice found joy in life’s simple things—wildflowers, flowing mountain streams, and the quiet peace of the countryside. Her love for nature reflected her spirit: calm, gentle, and deeply rooted.

She was a devoted wife and mother with a kind soul who never met a stranger. She had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and cared for. She also Loved Elvis very much. She looked forward to the sweet day that she would be reunited with her loving mother in heaven.

She is survived by her loving life partner of 40 years, Charles "Ray" Grant. She has a sister; Sharon, three brothers Tony, Kevin and Jerry. She has four daughters; that were her sunshine, Ashley, Brooke, Heather, and Michelle. She also has three lovely granddaughters; Kristen, Natalie and Addison. Also, she has eight Grandsons; Chase, King (due in July), Jaxson, Avery, Nathan, Micheal, Jesse Jr. and Bradley. Along with one great-grandchild due this October.

A memorial service will be held outdoors on May 9th at The Old Fort /Pisgah picnic area: 2415 State Road 1400, Old Fort, NC, 28762, where family and friends will gather to reflect on her life and the love she shared.

Her presence and smile will be forever missed, but her beautiful spirit will live on in every rustling leaf and flowing stream.

This is not GOODBYE, It is "I WILL SEE YOU LATER!" .
