Janice Fortune Carson, 83, of Marion, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026, at her residence.
Janice was born in Burke County, NC on September 16, 1942, to the late Lawrene Jackson Fortune and Sarah Inez Franklin Fortune. Janice was an avid gardener and a lover of many pets, especially dogs. She was a caregiver by nature and devoted her entire life to making sure her sons were well provided. She will always be loved and remembered.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Carson.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Stacey Carson (Ashley); and a step grandson, Phoenix Wilson.
In accordance with Janice’s wishes, no services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, www.give.michaeljfox.org
