James Edward Sherlin

James Edward Sherlin, age 67, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, May 02, 2016 at Hospice of Rutherford County with his loving family by his side.  A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, born September 07, 1948, he was the son of the late Ed and Pernie Walker Sherlin.

James, following more than 30 years of service, retired as a supervisor at Cross Cotton Mills; and in his spare time enjoyed spending with his family, especially his grandson, Jonah.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Hughes.

He is survived by two sons, Andy Sherlin of Marion and Dusty Sherlin (Beth) of Marion; one grandson, Jonah Sherlin; two brothers, Steve Sherlin (Marietta) of Old Fort and Glen Sherlin (Debi) of Marion. His former wife and friend, Ann Tallent of Marion, also survives.
