James Steven Newton

James Steven Newton, 63, of Nebo, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

He was born in Alamance County on May 13, 1961 to the late Charles Alvin Newton and Mary Lou Finley Newton. Stevie, as he was known to most, will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. He thoroughly enjoyed the company of family and friends, and they each will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Caudle; and one brother, Kenneth Newton.

He is survived by seven loving siblings, Alvin "Doc" Newton, Larry Newton, Lois Shipman, Margie Barnette, Libby Ramsey, Dennis Newton, and Richard Newton.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Steve Bugenhagen officiating. Burial will be at Muddy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
