Jacob Neuton Brown

Jacob Neuton Brown, 43, of Old Fort, passed away at Mission Hospital McDowell on Monday, September 14, 2026.

He was born in Rutherford County on February 8, 1983 to Larry Dennis Brown and the late Elizabeth Anne Cope Brown.

Jacob enjoyed music and singing. He loved the Lord as well as studying and teaching the Bible. He was known for his wonderful personality. Jacob loved his family and spending time with them. Recalling childhood memories always did his heart good. He worked as a carpenter and was exceptionally skilled at his work. Jacob loved cooking, and he made great cowboy beans. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by in addition to his father, Rev. Larry D. Brown, his wife, Jamie Shutt Brown; two step children, Chloe Shutt and Gracie Shutt; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 18, 2026 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. and will be officiated by Rev. Bobby Shehan.
