Jackie Phillips Buchanan

Jackie Jane “Tammy” Phillips Buchanan, 53, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at the Memorial Campus of Asheville.

Tammy was born in Mitchell Co. on August 6, 1968 to William Sam Wright and the late Vickie Phillips. Tammy was a member of Charity Mission FWB Church for thirty years. She liked all old cars, especially Camaro’s. Tammy was the type of person who was very easy to love. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend. Tammy loved everybody, especially her children.

In addition to her mother, Tammy was preceded in death by a brother Bill Wright.

In addition to her father, those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Marvin Buchanan; a son, Steven Buchanan and his wife Victoria; one brother, Sam Wright Jr. (Sara); five sisters, Lisa Wright (G.C.), Amanda Minish (Wes), Lindsey Cabe (Matthew), Sarah Wright and Jessie Wright (Kenneth) and two grandchildren, Cameron and Ryder.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Charity Mission FWB Church with Rev. Dennis Hensley officiating. Interment will follow at Sullins Branch Cemetery in Spruce Pine.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service, at the church.
