Iva Mae Rutherford

Iva Mae Rutherford, 81, of Nebo, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Mission Hospital McDowell.

She was born in Burke County on September 27, 1944 to the late James Smith and Nora Rutherford Scott.

Iva Mae had a heart for animals, especially dogs and cats. She enjoyed watching the deer also. She retired from Deer Park Health & Rehabilitation where she worked in housekeeping. A loving mother, sister, and friend, she was loved by all and will truly be missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bob Rutherford.

She is survived by her daughter, Tosha Nicole Rutherford; one brother, Lester Rutherford (Ruby); and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Arell Rutherford, Jr. officiating.
