Herbert David Winters

Herbert David Winters, 73, of Nebo, passed away at Rose Hill Retirement Community on Monday, December 22, 2025.

David was born in Burke County on February 27, 1952 to the late Glen Alfred Winters and the late Wilma Hoover Winters.

David loved watching sports and was an avid fan of the UNC Tarheel basketball and football teams. He spent a lot of his time outdoors fishing and he also enjoyed collecting guns. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Preceding David in death including his parents, are his brothers, Glen Winters and Michael Winters.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 20 yrs, Geraldine Sisk; his children, Holly Steiger (Brian), Eric Winters (Faymi), Katie Winters, Sabrina Winters (Randy) and Heather Vess (Andy) along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be announced at a later date.
