Helen Faye Mathis Ramsey

Helen Ramsey from Marion, North Carolina, peacefully joined her Lord and Savior Wednesday, February 15, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family as they gathered around her.

Helen was born November 27, 1937, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, to Thomas Jefferson and Nadine Matthews Mathis. She was preceded in death by her parents; and eight siblings.

Helen is survived by three brothers and one sister; her children, Dianna, Mildred, Lloyd (Beverly), Rita (Stanley), Charlie, Floyd, James (Tammy); eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Helen retired from Coats America in 2002 with thirty three years of dedicated service. Helen was an active member of Spruce Pine Church of Christ.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Walnut Grove Church in Avery County, NC. A graveside service to celebrate Helen's life will follow at 12 p.m. at the church cemetery, with Pastor Micah Simtkins officiating.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Brent, Jake, Jody, Justin, Chad and Lee.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. John Paul Fletcher and his staff for the exceptional care they have provided.
