Hazel Jane Waldroup

Hazel Jane Lockman Waldroup, 71, of Marion, passed away at Memorial Campus Asheville.

Hazel was born in Marion, North Carolina to Thelma Effler Lockman and the late Bart Lockman. She enjoyed reading and working word search puzzles. Hazel formally worked at both Autumn Care and Broyhill Furniture Company. Following retirement she volunteered as a teacher’s assistant at Glenwood Elementary. Hazel will be remembered as a loving mother, nana, granny and sister.

In addition to her father, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Waldroup; granddaughter Molly Rose and sister Nell Rochester.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, Jeff Waldroup (Jeana), Jaynie Morgan (Roy) and Lynn Rose; one sister Barbara Waldroup (Tommy); one brother Tony Effler; five grandchildren, Christopher Morgan, Phillip Morgan (Rachel), Chelsea Morgan, Devon Rose and Cameron Waldroup along with two great grandchildren Clarke Morgan and Lillian Turner.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Liberty Cemetery in Madison County. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Jimmy Moore and Rev. William Stevens.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
