Harvie Daniel Nelon

Harvie Daniel Nelon, 81, of Old Fort, North Carolina, passed away Monday morning, September 26, 2022 at Mountain Ridge Health and Rehab.

He was born in Buncombe County on December 01, 1940 to the late Charlie Lee Nelon and Minnie Owenby Nelon.

Harvie loved being in the outdoors and was talented with whatever he set his mind to. Building was his passion, and he enjoyed building furniture and houses. He took great pride in working in his yard and mowing the grass. He also liked working on cars. Harvie’s family meant the world to him, especially his three boys. He had a true heart of gold, and everyone he came in contact with commented on this, even in the last days of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Myrna Nelon; three sons, Harvey Daniel “Danny” Nelon, Jr. (Kathy), Tommy Lee Nelon (Vicki), and John Eric Nelon (Frannie); and one grandson, Clayton Morris Nelon.

In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned.
