Gwendlyn Kirby Thompson

Gwendlyn Elaine Kirby Thompson, age 38, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021.She is the daughter of Robert Kirby and Elaine Robinson (Danny) and was born on June 05, 1983, in Buncombe County, North Carolina.

Gwendlyn was a loving and caring person and was known for her sense of humor. She enjoyed listening to music, and swimming. She enjoyed art, drawing and was also a great cook.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by maternal grandmother, Kathy Rhymer; and three children, Dason Thompson, Braylan Bates and Kenzley Bates; siblings, Matt Kirby (Christy), Vanessa Kirby and Dustin Kirby (Kim) T.J. Jenkins and Anna Robinson; and a grandson, Waylon Thompson and number of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, August 16,2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service, with the Reverend Jerry McClain officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Interment will be held at Cane River Baptist Church Cemetery in Yancey County.
