Gregory Paul Slate

Gregory Paul Slate, 49, of Marion, passed away Monday, May 11, 2026 at Autumn Care of Drexel.

Greg was born in Galax, Virginia on February 17, 1977 to Gary Dean Slate and the late Alpha Belle Stewart Slate.

Greg was a firearms enthusiast. Known as a hard worker, he worked in weapon manufacturing for a number of years. In his later years, Greg found great joy and contentment in gaming with his friends. He also enjoyed playing pool. More than anything, he loved his family and friends immensely. His passing leaves a great void in the lives of those privileged to know him.

In addition to his father, Gary Slate, he is survived by three children, Christina Miller, Damion Slate, and Cheyenne Warren; two grandchildren; and one sister, Stacy Slate.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m.
