Gregory Scott Allison

Gregory Scott Allison, 59, of Old Fort, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022 at home with his loving family by his side.

A native of McDowell County, Greg was born on September 25, 1962 to the late Charles Allison and Mary Ellen Thomas Allison.

For over 15 years, Greg worked at Wilson Marble. He was a member of Old Fort Free Will Baptist Church. He loved his church family. An avid outdoorsman, Greg enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. Greg was also a NASCAR enthusiast who was a fan of Dale Earnhardt. He was a man of integrity who never changed for anyone. He was his true self all the time. His grandchildren were very special to him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Roger Eugene Allison, Stewart Howell Allison, and George Ronald Allison.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Lori Crisp Allison; three sons, Jeremia Scott Allison, Jesse Paul Harrison Allison, and Gregory Dale Allison (Stephanie); six grandchildren, Myah Allison, Kayleigh Allison, Aubrey Allison, Keelin Lindsay, Choley Allison, and Jesse Liam Allison; eight siblings, Vivian Ennis (Charles), Charles “Chuck” Allison (Cindy), Sandra Allison, Abigail Jordan (Walter), Ramona Davis (James), Jeff Allison, Kimberly Allison, and Chris Allison (Tracy); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 03, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at Old Fort Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Heath Ogle officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the church cemetery on Green Knob Road.
