Grace Revis Stafford

Grace Revis Stafford, 85, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

She was born in Marion on June 6, 1938 to the late Namon and Ada Randolph Revis. She is also preceded in death by seven siblings and two half siblings.

Grace was a member of Fairview Free Will Baptist Church where she attended for over 80 years. She loved sports and was an avid fan of the UNC Tarheels. She played softball for many years and was very talented. Grace was an excellent cook who enjoyed feeding her family as well as her church family in times of need. She believed that her greatest accomplishments throughout her whole life were becoming a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Baxter Stafford; daughter, Tammy Wise and husband, David; three grandchildren, Blake Wise, Myron Wise and wife, Maile, and Jennifer Wise Smith and husband, Eric; two great grandchildren, Landry Wise and Rylan Wise; six siblings, Lois Pittman, Howard Revis, Bobby Revis, Charles Revis, Wiley Revis, and Esther Drayton; and her special dog, Copper.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Fairview Free Will Baptist Church, 1754 Stacy Hill Road, Marion, NC 28752. Pastor Brandon Smith will officiate the service and will be assisted by Pastor Wayne Miller. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.
